About this Page

This blog focuses on one of my favorite pastimes: movies! After all, who doesn’t enjoy a good movie every now and then? When available, I include both the professional movie critics’ reviews and complement them with my own. As I’m sure you’ve also experienced on your own with movies, you’re not always aligned with their thoughts and reviews and this blog is no different. I’m pretty varied in terms of the type of movies that I enjoy watching and you’ll find that’s pretty evident in the movies I chose to outline in these posts.

You’ll also find that I cover movies that I’ve personally seen. I mean, who wants to hear reviews from someone who hasn’t actually seen those movies themselves? It makes their opinions just completely recycled versions of what’s already out there. While my take on certain movies may actually align with critics’ takes on them, at least you know that I’m writing from an experienced perspective which hopefully gives my insights that much more weight.

The types of movies I’ve outlined in this blog include horror, comedy, kids and a TV show. While the first genre is my absolute favorite by far, I also share a love for the others. Seriously – who doesn’t love a good laugh every now and then? It’s nice just to get away from real life and chuckle – even if the jokes aren’t that funny. Since I like mainstream movies, you’ll notice that the actors featured in these movies are big names, so you’re sure to get some decent comedy out of them.

If you’re wondering how a full grown man can passionately write about kids movies, the answer is simple: there’s a kid in all of us. Who doesn’t appreciate just taking a short break from the reality of our normal, responsibility-filled everyday lives? Whether you’re young, or young at heart, you’ve had your share of kids movies that you’ve enjoyed at one point or another. Finding Nemo anyone? Any Disney classics? This is a safe place – admit it, you’re guilty of enjoying these types of movies as well!

I’m sure by now you’ve read my OITNB post. If you know what that stands for, then you’re just as big a fan as I am. If you’re unsure of what that means, then maybe the cool kids just haven’t gotten around to letting you in on what this acronym stands for. We think we’re pretty cool, so here it is: Orange is the New Black. Netflix’s huge hit is on BluRay now too from seasons 1 to 3, so you’ve got some catching up to do if you’re not familiar with the ladies of Litchfield. I think it’s time for some binge-watching!

I also covered the awesome gay-themed comedy called ‘4th Man Out’ – absolutely hilarious! Think of it as a classic guy friends figuring life out with a gay twist. It was well done, without graphic scenes (I know that can be quite sensitive for some) and a really good moral lesson. Great movie to pop in on a Friday night with good friends around.

If you have any other movies you’d like me to see and do up blog posts on, feel free to let me know! Happy to emerge myself in a good flick then let the blogosphere know about my thoughts on the movie. Talk soon!
